It’s happened to many of us – at home and at work – when we want to save that extra photo, video file or important document and find that our computer, tablet or smartphone has run out of storage space.

For those of us who keep up to date on technological developments, we know that one relatively new solution to this frustration is using the ‘cloud’ to store our documents, files and business applications – enabling us to access them anywhere, any time, on any device.

Until now, the ‘cloud’ has been the exclusive domain of giant, global computing firms who have the infrastructure to support the massive amounts of storage needed to run a ‘cloud’ computing operation.

But thanks to its cutting edge technology, and its responsiveness to its customer’s demands, Cambodia’s leading internet company, EZECOM, will soon launch ibizCloud - a “Made in Cambodia” solution to the growing problem of IT capacities in our data-rich lives.

ibizCloud, a joint venture with Hong Kong telecoms giant Hutchison Global Communications, is initially aimed at the business market, offering an alternative to expensive on-site data management.

EZECOM will work with businesses to assess their data needs and IT requirements and then converge virtual, off-site data storage and management system – based in Cambodia, managed by Cambodians and still meeting all the strictest international security standards.

“Many businesses and IT managers are aware of cloud computing and the advantages it brings. But many are put off by the price tag from the global giants and the lack of face-to-face support from companies in the US or in Europe,” says Sok Yeng, Value Added Services Product Manager at EZECOM.

“ibizCloud is based in Cambodia and we understand Cambodian businesses so this will help ease any worries that businesses here have about using cloud computing – knowing that we are there, in person, to support them with their data management and storage,” says Sok Yeng.
The launch of ibizCloud comes at the start of a busy 2015 for EZECOM, which aims to build on its leading position as Cambodia’s number one internet and data services provider by being the first company in Cambodia to bring ashore a submarine fiber optic cable that will dramatically increase the internet bandwidth available and reliability to Cambodian internet users.

Now you can access your storage from anywhere, anytime and on any devices! ibizCloud's service provides you with:
  • Cloud Available Globally
  • Pioneer To On-demand VLL Service
  • Cloud-to-Cloud Private MPLS Connect
  • Defferent Tier Connectivity
  • Pay-as-you-go Charging Scheme
  • Fast Provisioning of Services
The slogan for this service "International Quality, Local Service".

Will Cambodian businesses support this made-in-Cambodia cloud service?
Personally, we have to support for this initiative idea and it is good opportunity to try and trust in term of support and quality.

ibizCloud - Cambodia's First Cloud Service

Even this service, Google Drive, had some rumors but from today on, we can use it with free and paid service. Do you know what's Google Drive and how does it offer?
Google Drive is a cloud-computing storage (means you can store and manage it on the web, and access anywhere and share anyone - while your devices connects to Internet) and a place where you can create, share, collaborate, and keep all of your stuff. Whether you’re working with a friend on a joint research project, planning a wedding with your fiancĂ© or tracking a budget with roommates, you can do it in Drive. You can upload and access all of your files, including videos, photos, Google Docs, PDFs and beyond.
On what I myself like and confirmed to use it are two features: the first one, Store everything safely and access it anywhere (especially while on the go) and the second, Search everything [Search by keyword and filter by file type, owner and more. Drive can even recognize text in scanned documents using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. Let’s say you upload a scanned image of an old newspaper clipping. You can search for a word from the text of the actual article. We also use image recognition so that if you drag and drop photos from your Grand Canyon trip into Drive, you can later search for [grand canyon] and photos of its gorges should pop up. This technology is still in its early stages, and we expect it to get better over time.]. Oh, I forget that I like this point too, View Anything (Open over 30 file types right in your browser—including HD video, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop—even if you don’t have the program installed on your computer)
*Note: just inform that if you use the service, it's also integrated with other Google services (Google Search, Gmail, Google+ etc.)
How big does it offer for Free and Paid?
You can get started with 5GB of storage for free—that’s enough to store the high-res photos of your trip to the Mt. Everest, scanned copies of your grandparents’ love letters or a career’s worth of business proposals, and still have space for the novel you’re working on. You can choose to upgrade to 25GB for $2.49/month, 100GB for $4.99/month or even 1TB for $49.99/month. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail account storage will also expand to 25GB.
Even though it's 2GB of storage size smaller than a cloud service of Microsoft, SkyDrive, but I think it's still good becuase its File Size Limit more bigger than others (it's up to 10GB per file).
The below image can show you some comparison with other cloud-computing storage services (SkyDrive, Dropbox, Box, and Sugar Sync).

Google launches its service, Google Drive

Dropbox is a Web-based file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. that uses cloud storage to enable users to store and share files and folders with others across the Internet using file synchronization. It was founded in 2007 by MIT graduates Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi as a Y Combinator startup.
There are both free and paid services, each with varying options. In comparison to similar services, Dropbox offers a relatively large number of user clients across a variety of desktop and mobile operating systems. There are a number of versions across many operating systems, including versions for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (official and unofficial), as well as versions for mobile devices, such as Android, Windows Phone 7, iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry, and a web-based client for when no local client is installed. Dropbox uses the freemium financial model and its free service provides 2 GB of free online storage. Users who refer Dropbox to others can gain up to 8 GB of additional free storage. The service's major competitors include Box.net, FilesAnywhere, CloudMe, CrashPlan, Egnyte, iCloud, Mozy, SpiderOak, SugarSync, TitanFile, Ubuntu One, Windows Live SkyDrive, TeamDrive, Wuala and ZumoDrive.
