Top 5 SEO Mistakes That Webmaster Should Know

Every webmaster has already known how SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is so important for a website. So, in a video of  Mr. Matt Cutts, Google’s head of webspam team, listed off the top five SEO mistakes webmasters often make.

What are those mistakes that he mentioned?

  1. Not having a website or having a website that is not crawlable is the biggest mistake
  2. Not including the right words on the page. The example, don’t just write, “Mt. Everest Height” but write, “How high is Mt. Everest?” because that is how people search
  3. Don’t think about link building, think about compelling content and marketing
  4. Don’t forget to think about the title and description of your most important pages
  5. Not using webmaster resources and learning about how Google works and what SEO is about.
SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines.

Have you felt hot for few days during daytime and nighttime in our country, Cambodia?
project_cooling_Cambodia
Love the Earth by Saving Energy
Personally I do not notice it seriously because I have known about Global Warming not only Cambodia but in the world increasing presently; but last week when I drove out for doing my personal issue on break time, I noticed that it was so hot for me during the day and night times.

This is the reason reminds me on one-year-ago social event "Project Cooling Cambodia - Love the Earth by Saving Energy" I had joined which invited and organized by Mrs. Lay Sotheany with her friend named Ms. James who both of them had attended the Leadership Training Program in Japan of IATSS FORUM and brought back along with this fruitful project. At the event that was celebrated in Chaktomuk Primary School last year, I really enjoyed with her team, some volunteers from ANZ Royal bank, working together to explain the younger students on how to save energy and got them draw a nice green-environment house in group then competed each other to find the best photo; the winner group grained nice gifts (books, pens...).

What I learned from this social event?
I was so pleased to see the younger generations knowing this issue and brought back this information to tell their parents.
What the project would recommend them to know and I got from as following:
1. Turn off the lights when you leave the room
2. Play outside instead of watching TV
3. Turn off water when you brush your teeth
4. Use the "U shape" light bulb
5. Don't leave the refrigerator door open
6. Open the windows for light & cool air
7. Tell mom & dad, Tell sister & brother, Tell friends
Group Photo
These are not only their issue or me or you but our all because you and I also are a member of a family, community, society, country and a globe.

For me, I have some idea similarly to the above tips but all I practice it everyday, and I think all what I would share here, you my beloved readers do it as well.
They are as the following:
1. Turn off the lights when leave the rooms (office, house, rest room etc.)
2. Take out chargers when finish charging the electronic devices (mobile phone, laptop ...)
3. Switch motorbike's engine off when the traffic light-stop ranges greater that 30s and less that 60s then start it at 10s
4. Tell family members (wife, kids, nephew, niece, friends ...) on Global Warming issue

It Saves You Money, Safe Your Security, Save Your Family's Expense, Save the Earth!!

The Global Warming issue is considering by over the world but it starts from you!!!

If you have any more personal idea, kindly share it for me too, and kindly share this if you love the GREEN like me as well.

I Love the GREEN!

This morning, while I have checked my personal Youtube channel, I saw the new popup alert at the top of the channel.
It may introduce new stuff, I guessed that, I know Google never stop changing or improving more and more.
I am also a Youtuber who I like watching on it and uploading some stuff related IT, personal hobbies, events, tips etc. These why I have to note its improvement on my channel by updating it to use the new one.
Old Youtube layout
"You are more than the sum of your uploads. On your new channel, branding works across devices, you can reach out to non-subscribed viewers, and you can show off more of your content so fans will go deeper" - YouTube.
What impress me to switch to this new changes?
My sample banner photo
All improvement or updates are always good but some do not that based on the users' likes, if more they like it means it's great for such kind of changes. Any means, I do like it based on some features as such:
Nice Channel Art upload
- Banner: that allow me to upload photo with the size 2120 X 1192px (recommended), it's really nice to flexible based on your devices (Desktop, Mobile, Tablet) to use; its maximum scaled width, the channel 2120 X 350px, and the minimum is 1280 X 350px (it's a kindly of Responsive template). You can download my sample designed photo layout (in Photoshop format).
- View as public: allow me to check/view it when update or customize any points as public
- Social Links: locates at the bottom-right corner of banner which allows to visible one customized link (to my personal blog), and 4 social links (max links up to 18 social medias: Google+, Facebook, Twitter ...; but visible only 4 links)
- Channel Art (Edit): it allows me to change the cover nicely with adjustable photo to preview both on desktop and smart devices screen
- Customized content/layout: It's really nice stuffs which allow me to customize my videos in a bigger player mode as Trailer, below the banner photo. I can customize all contents (Popular uploads, Recent uploads, All playlist, Likes, Recent post, Recent activities, Single playlist, and Tag) onto first/home page by two layout styles (Horizontal row or Vertical list).

Now I have updated it to the Once Channel as shown in the below photo.
My YouTube One Channel

Finally, the old layout that allows to upload photo as background today it is out of my channel. I am pleased to share and keep its new feature tips in my blog. Do you like the new change? Check it out more features!

Youtube introduces YouTube One Channel - New design!

You may wonder what is Facebook Timeline? Yeah, it’s a new feature of Facebook, and its features describing the following:
Your timeline is your collection of the photos, stories, and experiences that tell your story. Here are some of the things you can do on your timeline:
  • Add a cover
  •  Edit your basic info
  •  Jump to the past
  • View your activity log
  • See highlights from each month
  • Star stories you want to highlight
  • Add life events
  • Update your status
  • View and add photos
  • Share your app activity
How do I get timeline?
Previously Facebook Inc. doesn’t provide the easy way to enable this feature, Facebook Timeline; at that time if you want this new feature, you have to create an app in the Facebook Page then apply for your own profile user, but now since the late December 2011, Facebook has launched it for public by three easy steps as below:
1    1.)    Go to the “About Timeline” page here: http://www.facebook.com/about/timeline
2.)  Then please click on the “Get Timeline” button (Note: Make sure that you have logged in your Facebook already)
3.)  Last just click on the button “Publish Now”. After you have activated the Timeline you have to add a cover image in the header of your facebook profile and after that your profile will look as my profile.
If you can design the cover by your own, that’s great or you can download my sample size of it here "Facebook Cover".

What happens when I upgrade to timeline?
Once you upgrade, you’ll have 7 days to preview your timeline before other people can see it. You can use this time to add a coverfill in life events, and star important stories. After 7 days, your timeline will be published automatically. Or, you can choose to publish your timeline at any time by clicking the Publish Now button at the top of your timeline.

Note: Until your timeline goes live, people will see your old profile. Similarly, you won’t be able to see your friend’s timelines until they upgrade and publish.

[Tips] The easy way to enable Facebook Timeline by 3 clicks

When you upgrade a computer running Windows XP to Windows Vista, Windows automatically imports any messages and contacts you have in Outlook Express to Windows Mail. (Outlook Express has been replaced in Windows Vista by Windows Mail.)
If you are not upgrading but want to transfer your Outlook Express messages to a computer running Windows Vista, then you need to transfer the messages manually or use Windows Easy Transfer.
If you are just transferring Outlook Express messages (and not all your other files and settings) from a computer running Windows XP, you may find it easier to use the manual method described here.
On the computer running Windows XP, do the following:
  1. The folder that contains the Outlook Express messages is marked as a hidden folder in Windows. To view this hidden folder, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options. Click the View tab, and under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
  2. Locate the folder named Outlook Express. In Windows XP, this folder is located here by default: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{your Windows user identity number}\Microsoft\Outlook Express.
  3. Copy the Outlook Express folder and all its contents to the Documents folder on the computer running Windows Vista. (You can store this copy of the Outlook Express folder in a location other than the Documents folder, as long as you remember where to find it.) For information about how to copy a folder.
On the computer running Windows Vista, do the following:
  1. Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button Description: Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.
  2. Click the File menu, point to Import, and then click Messages.
  3. Click Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and then click Next.
  4. Make sure Import mail from an OE6 store directory is selected, and then click OK.
  5. Click Browse, find the Outlook Express folder you copied to this computer, and then click the folder once to select it. (Do not open the folder when you select it.)
  6. Click Select Folder, and then click Next.
  7. Click All folders to import all the folders, or click Selected folders and select which message folders you want to import, and then click Next.
  8. Click Finish.

Notes

·         The Windows user identity number is different for every user. It will be inside brackets and look similar to this sample number: {8389CA60-ED34-11DB-95EE-10AE55D89593}
·         If Windows XP is installed on another hard disk location other than your C: drive, use that drive letter instead of C: when searching for your Outlook Express folder.
·         Outlook Express stores your messages in a folder that contains several different .dbx files. These files (folders.dbx, inbox.dbx, outbox.dbx) contain all your messages. Windows Mail cannot import any of these files individually; you must import the entire Outlook Express folder.
·         If Windows Mail is unable to import your messages, make sure none of the files in the Outlook Express folder are marked Read only. Open the folder, select all the files, right-click them, click Properties, and make sure the Read only check box is cleared.
·         Windows Mail cannot import messages from IMAP or HTTP e-mail accounts, even if those messages were stored in Outlook Express. Windows Mail also cannot import any newsgroup messages you may have had stored in Outlook Express.
